Happy 3rd Birthday Amelia! On Saturday, little Amelia invited me to join the festivities by sending me a cute video asking me to come to the party. At the event, she was surrounded by family and friends who played all day around the house and outside in the castle shaped jumper, which surprisingly can hold 3 “Adults” (no need to worry, we tested it!), though they advise to only have one adult with the children in there. The theme of party was fairy tale with splashes of green and purple. The cupcakes were donned with a cute Tinkerbell candle and green and white frosting daisies that were almost too cute to eat (trust me, they tasted delicious). Amelia received many gifts, her favorites however would have to be a cute little power wheels car in pink from Auntie Nina and Uncle Chris, an easel from Auntie Christina, and the most adorable play kitchen from her Grandparents.
Spent half of my Labor day weekend at the cabin in Crestline with the family and stylish dog. Normally, we don’t do much to celebrate this holiday, usually we just hang out, but this time we got a little fancy and splurged on some lobsters for our barbecue dinner. It was such a treat to have, I know my stomach was satisfied that night. One of the perks being out there is that it is so peaceful and quiet, the downside, no cell phone or internet reception anywhere except in town. I guess it’s what I needed anyway, a little R&R goes a long way.
Last Friday I attended my first ever track day at “The Streets of Willow” in Lancaster. Tim woke me up bright and early at 7am, telling me it was time to hit the road. Sleepy eyed, thank goodness I didn’t drive, we made out way out to Lancaster to see Matt and the other cars run the track and get timed. The weather wasn’t too bad in the beginning due to the spots of clouds and the nice breeze that we were fortunate to have. I wish it had stayed all day because around 1pm it was getting HOT. There were three groups from beginners, intermediates, and advanced who took turns on the track. Matt was in the beginners group, though honestly he should have moved up to at least intermediate. It was interesting to see that some drivers brought instructors to teach them. Who knew Lancaster was the place to learn to be a racer? Or at least better at driving.
There goes Matt!
Last Friday, my friend Christina and I ventured to Old Town Pasadena to do a little walking at the shops and to try something new. We ended up at Tea Rose Garden, which upon entering, felt like a whole new world. The interior slightly reminded me of Cesear’s Palace in Las Vegas, just because there was a painted blue sky on the ceiling. Each table had preset teacups and plates. The food there was pretty good too, especially the smoked salmon with dill on it. Delicious! I’m salivating just thinking about how good it tasted. There was even a bridal shower happening at the table next to us. I never knew such places still existed.
About a month ago, my dear friend Amanda came back into town from Hong Kong. While we were catching up with one another, she told me her sister was coming back to have a wedding. Jokingly, I said I was going to crash it and join the party with the happy couple. The next thing I know, I’m out shopping for a wedding outfit because Melissa said she would be more than happy for me to join in the festivities! It was a lovely time celebrating with all of Melissa and Mason’s family. Wishing the best for these two! Here are some photos from the ceremony.
About three weeks ago, I had an wonderful opportunity to be a second shooter at a wedding for my friend Amanda. The wedding took place at the Fullerton arboretum right near Cal State Fullerton. This venue was perfect for an intimate wedding with close family and friends. I had never shot a wedding and honestly, I was hoping everything turned out alright – I mean, it’s an important day in these people’s lives and I wanted to make sure I did everything right to capture the moment. In the end, everything turned out great. Many laughs and tears of joy were shed as the couple displayed their love and commitment to one another.
Announcing the happy couplee
The Best Man and Maid of Honor deliver their toasts to the newlyweds.
I had such a pleasure working with them to commemorate this special day. Congratulations to the happy couple! I hope you find nothing but happiness in this new chapter of your lives.
Every Sunday on Sunset & Ivar from 8AM to 1PM, Hollywood has it’s Farmer’s Market. I’ve been to my fair share of farmers markets before, but I was surprised how large this one was. These vendors came from all over to promote their companies and produce. There were many booths, all trying to sell what was in season – peaches, nectarines, pluots, and a variety of other goods like honey and seasoning. I had to control myself from purchasing a little bit from each table because their samples of their selection were delicious. Fascinated by today’s turnout, I was excited when I saw people with loads of fresh produce and seasoning under their arms as they headed off home.
The cutest little 8 month puppy I’d seen attempting to drink water. His name was Otis and he has one blue and one brown eye.
Last Sunday was Extreme Autofest at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. I was fortunate to tag along with my buddies from Timscribbles.com and snap some photos of such lovely cars. They even made a track where if you registered with them could drive your own car and do a time trial. It was neat to see Honda’s, Miata’s, and even a couple of Mustangs run through the track. With every car event I go to, I am slowly learning little by little. Honestly, the most I could tell you is whether or not I thought the car was pretty. Thankfully the guys were knowledgeable enough to answer my every silly question. It was nice of them to just point out a car to me and ask my thought about whether or not I liked the design and shape of it. Here are some of my favorites.
My latest obsession has been wooden steering wheels. I must get one for my next car!
My favorite car at the show. The AC Cobra, isn’t it beautiful!
With the upcoming completion of my college career, I figure now is the best time to start a new blog and not just any blog. This blog will finally contain my passions and drive. Fresh, clean, and keeping a positive outlook on the next phase of my life, I will update constantly and really utilize it to it’s full potential. And I invite you to join me along the way.Honestly, this blog is now more than ever my stress release and guilty pleasure of fashion, photography, DIY projects and inspiration. Actually, anything that my mind wants to express. It will be a way to allow the public and I to really connect. (Please feel free to leave me messages and questions! I love hearing from people.) I am so anxious and nervous and excited to start this next chapter in my life. Ahhh! I cannot wait to see what fate has in store for me. By the look of it, I know it will be a great adventure!
